I'm trying to install gentoo from a live usb but I can't connect to the internet with wifi or ethernet. I have the following notification
IP configuration was unavailable.

The command : lspci returns
Ethernet controller: Realtek Semiconductor Co., Ltd. RTL8111/8168/8411 PCI Express Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 06)

While the command ifconfig does not return eth0 and/or wlan0 (as on debian). It returns only : lo

What can I do to solve this issue?

P.

try to do

Code:
#modprobe r8169

and after

Code:
#dmesg | grep r8169

do you get messages?

now you can find your interface with ifconfig?

Did you look at lspci -k output to see if the driver is loaded?
Did you look at ifconfig -a output to see if device node is created?

I agree, SystemrescueCd is best install media for Gentoo.

The
Code:
 ifconfig
command returns

Do you have any idea? I even don't know what kind of problem it is, so when I'm searching on the internet I can't find any concret solution.
