I have an Nvidia GTX 960 hooked up to the expresscard port on my Lenovo T420 using a PE4L, it works fine with X11(all my monitors are connected to the GPU) but the only way I can see a tty after boot or anything during boot is to also have my monitor connected to the laptops VGA port. If I do not have my monitor connected to the laptop as well I will just see nothing.
Anything I can do about this? |

YumeWizard,
That depends on your laptop firmware and to a certain extent on the graphics card.
There may be an option in your BIOS to default to the external display system.
You will only get this option if the expresscard provides some BIOS of its own that the laptop BIOS can talk to. _________________ Regards,

Thanks, I'll have to check that out. |
