In kernel versions 4.1.15 and newer does not work side-scrolling on the touchpad. My notebook Msi cx623 with touchpad Genesys Logic.
Loads ImExPS / 2 driver (mouse driver) instead of the desired FSPPS / 2. How to fix it?

The core is compile without the support modules. Please, help.

on my 4.1.15 i had to emerge synaptiKs........ the default 'synaptics' by it self doesnt work, it needs the kde frontend 'synaptiKs'

but then your touchpad wont work at login managers, or any WM.. until after you have logged into kde desktop first.. wait 5 sec then full touchpad functionality appears, log out and proceed to whichever dwm you use

sucks but that's the only hack way i got it to work without editing conf files(which prolly would be easier but i have an optimus laptop so my xconfig for mouse is like an enigma)

The problem is not in WM. The dmesg indicating driver ImExPS / 2. With driver FSPPS / 2 all good.

How do I replace the driver? The problem should be easy, I'm too stupid.

Indeed the problem isn't wm related, that's not what I'm saying.. What I am saying is the only way I got it working is with the help of synaptiks, once it is parsed when KDE loads touchpad will magically starts working.

So indeed dmesg will show all good, the prob is something not loading properly. KDE will automatically if synaptiks is installed with your current driver, as I said its no fix for your driver just a work around.

Someone who knows the synaptics driver and how its loaded is needed
