Guys pls help me! Whats going on here?

Tell me what I have to do, how can I fix it.
Code:
 emerge --ask firefox

 * IMPORTANT: 11 news items need reading for repository 'gentoo'.
 * Use eselect news read to view new items.

 * IMPORTANT: 10 config files in '/etc/portage' need updating.
 * See the CONFIGURATION FILES and CONFIGURATION FILES UPDATE TOOLS
 * sections of the emerge man page to learn how to update config files.

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

noqrax,

Code:
!!! The ebuild selected to satisfy ">=media-video/ffmpeg-2.8.5:0=
...
The following REQUIRED_USE flag constraints are unsatisfied:
    cpu_flags_x86_sse? ( cpu_flags_x86_mmxext )

That says that if you set cpu_flags_x86_sse on this package, you must also set cpu_flags_x86_mmxext.
That goes in CPU_FLAGS_X86= in make.conf.

Code:
emerge -1 app-portage/cpuid2cpuflags
Then run it to see what your CPU_FLAGS_X86= should be.
In practice, if you have sse, you also have mmxext. mmxext was an early implementation that used the FPU registers.
sse added a new set of registers and implemented all the old mmxext instructions and more besides.

That app-portage/cpuid2cpuflags will keep you right.

As to me portage system a bit hard for new users. As to my previous experience with pacman of "True Linux" Arch was much easier.

Most of these config files messages was created when I just had been about installing Xorg and Firefox. But magically I did it without any config editings. Hope this messages go away someday like a midnight nightmare.

Anyway thank you all for help!

noqrax,

They will go away when you address them.
You get to keep all the pieces if you continue to ignore them.
