This is a bit of a weird one, and something I've been experiencing for months if not years. Dolphin emulator shows a black screen whenever I open any disc image. I still get sound output, just no video. My graphics configuration seems fine, and I get video acceleration elsewhere. This happens even when I move my ~/.dolphin-emu somewhere else. Any ideas on where to begin debugging this?

Have a look at dmesg when this happens, and it might give you some pointers, which may in turn help the rest of us in trying to help you.

Nothing is appended to dmesg or journalctl when it happens.

What do you mean by this?

It sounds like you are removing it from its "Path" so to speak.
The program will be looking for it at that specific location no doubt. Which is probably why you encounter the problem when you move it from there.

~/.dolphin-emu is the storage/configuration directory for dolphin. By moving that folder, I force dolphin to regenerate its configuration from defaults. What I'm saying is that even with the default configuration, I get a black screen.

If you launch it using the terminal, especially with a verbosity flag, you may get some more output with regards to the problem.
