Hello,

I am in the process of reinstalling Gentoo, as I have changed SSDs around a bit. I am getting an error with

Code:
emerge-webrsync
,

as the process stops right after trying to fetch file portage-20161122.tar.xz...and it only shows a cursor, as if it is thinking, or something.

enrico

edit Never mind, it finally went through...

emerge-webrsync download snapshot portage (~70Mb), Depending on you intenet connection can take time.
If internet connection is not the problem try change sync-uri with another mirror on /etc/portage/repos.conf/gentoo.conf

No further output? Try verbose mode to see what's missing:
Code:
# emerge-webrsync -v

Also see https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki//etc/portage/repos.conf/webrsync.conf.

Hi,

I resolved, or, better, my system did. It took a while, but the download finally went through. Maybe the mirror was busy, or else. Anyways, my system is now up and running, I am done with the installing, many thanks for your support,

Enrico
