I am updating the system.

in the package list there is xf86-video-dummy-0.3.6, but it does not emerge and brakes the update.
Here the error:

/var/tmp/portage/x11-drivers/xf86-video-dummy-0.3.6/work/xf86-video-dummy-0.3.6/src/dummy_driver.c:18:22: fatal error: mibstore.h: No such file or directory
#include "mibstore.h"

I found a patch for mibstore.h, but indeed I cannot find the file at all (http://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/11834/).
Is there a fix available for this package? :o

I am convinced that this package is pulled in by the 'dummy' flag in VIDEO CARDS. Is it necessary? How to change it. I trivially tried to write VIDEO_CARDS="-dummy" in make.conf, but this is not accepted.

Hi!

Please open a bug at https://bugs.gentoo.org and provide there the complete build log and the output of emerge --info.

Do you need this dummy video driver? What video card do you have ?

10B2,

VIDEO_CARDS= is a list of the video card drivers that you want to install.
If the list is empty, you used to get none. Maybe that's changed so you get them all now?

Please post the output of
Code:
emerge --info

10B2,

Code:
VIDEO_CARDS="amdgpu fbdev intel nouveau radeon radeonsi vesa dummy v4l"

That's quite a selection of video drivers.

Its unlikely you actually need the dummy driver, so remove it from the list.

Ok, but how can I do it without recompiling the kernel? I am updating the system and would prefere to update the kernel at the very end...

10B2,

The kernel sources will be added to /usr/src. That does not update the kernel, only fetches the sources, so you can do the update whenever you please.

Removing dummy from VIDEO_CARDS should prevnt the dummy video card driver from being built.

If I included VIDEO_CARDS="intel -dummy" in make.conf I would get:
Invalid '-' operator in non-incremental variable 'VIDEO_CARDS': '-dummy'
at emerge command. Definitely better if I do not write '-dummy but I leave only: VIDEO_CARDS="intel ". This should work fine, isn't'it? But Still missing where the VIDEO_CARDS are set before they are reset in make.conf...If I commented out the VIDEO_CARDS line in make.conf I would get a whole bunch of them as I could see in the emerging packages...

If you comment this line, the system get this variable from make.defaults of profile (in my case /usr/portage/profiles/arch/amd64/make.defaults)
