For testing purposes in X, you can use xev and check the output.

Below section when it does not generate any events in xev:

Code:
lsusb

Quote:
xorg.log please

I assume its an USB HuMAN input device.

Check your kernel settings. lsub will give yuo a hint what to set in your kernel.

my gamepad with usb, works in a few games in gnu/linux.

usually:

connect the human input device (can be anything), configure the kernel, set-up x-server, set up the game.

Human input device => kernel => USB +USB HID + joystick + manufacturer related things + things hidden in the staging section + newest kernel.org stable kernel.

do not forget to set this:
Code:
ASUS-G75VW roman # grep evdev /etc/portage/make.conf

INPUT_DEVICES="evdev synaptics keyboard mouse wacom joystick"

I expect that you already searched for anyone who has the same HID and used it already in gnu / linux. Any guide for any linux distro can be used to set up your box.

Any gamepad / joystick guide should give you a basic idea on how to set up a HID in linux.
