I made my 1st Gentoo installation today. Windows was pre-installed and I installed Gentoo where arch was. Grub starts, boot options are OK, windows boot normally but Gentoo not.
Here is the screen https://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/1194x672q90/922/fP6HeU.jpg

I used genkernel and have only 2 partitions: swap and /.

Any help?

Thank you!

hariskar,

Welcome to Gentoo.

The green screen tells that you have several video drivers fighting over your graphics hardware.
Did you use
Code:
genkernel all
or did you change options in the kernel?

Post your lspci output and put your kernel .config file onto a pastebin site.
The .config will not fit into a forums post.

wgetpaste is your friend.

Actually, your system may have booted but you can't see it as you don't have a working console.

At installation 1st I compiled a kernel where I removed a few options that I surely don't need and then I thought the automated process would be more save and then run
Code:
genkernel all
.
Thank you for reply!

That will provide the information to help fix your problem.

Code:
genkernel all
will have thrown away all your changes and used its own preset .config file.
Normally, that works.

I made a fresh installation but with the same results. Here is the output of lspci

I'll put the config as soon as possible.
Thank you!

hariskar,

I suspected it was hardware framebuffer drivers fighting with the kernel mode switching (KMS) drivers.
