I have java installed on a virtual server to run jenkins. This is in my /var/log/messages and I don't know what it's about - except it's a java issue:

Code:

What's the problem here?

I am aware of reported issue with JDK related to hugepages when lots of RAM is installed on the server for in-memory computations (for example) which caused kernel panic and happened on JDK 7 mainly, but some JDK 6 were also reported.

But if you run Jenkins, which requires relatively small memory, it is probably not the case.

I would suggest to switch the JDK, either version or Oracle vs JDK.

What JDK do you exactly use?

I'm using: dev-java/oracle-jdk-bin-1.8.0.121

So I should switch to open jdk for example?

Hard to guess since the important parts of the log are cut off. But it's not a kernel panic either way, because those don't make it to syslog at all.
