I have downloaded bootstrap-prefix.sh from below mentioned links from Gentoo site.

CHOST:- x86_64-pc-linux-gnu

https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Project:Prefix/Bootstrap

I tried to make run on RHEL 5 system with gcc 4.3.5 but it fails at stage 2 with errors.
Code:

Odd!  Running
  /bin/bash ./bootstrap-prefix.sh "/home/vatsal/gentoo" stage2
failed! :(  Details might be found in the build log:
  (no build logs found?!?)
I have no clue, really.  Please find friendly folks in #gentoo-prefix on
irc.gentoo.org, gentoo-alt@lists.gentoo.org mailing list, or file a bug
at bugs.gentoo.org under Gentoo/Alt, Prefix Support. I am defeated.
I am of no use here any more.
Maybe you can find some clues in /home/vatsal/gentoo/stage2.log

Please help on Urgent bases.

Thanks
Vatsal

Check your kernel.

May I ask why are you running software on a hostile platform?

hostile platform
antique gcc

Code:
ASUS-G75VW roman # gcc-config -l
 [1] x86_64-pc-linux-gnu-5.4.0 *

I assume it is your outdated gcc, when it is not a typo. 4.9.x is quite in use for at least 2 years I assume, 5.4.x for ~1 year (maybe a bit less)

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 (Tikanga), 15 March 2007, uses Linux kernel 2.6.18-8[21]

Serious a 10 year old platform?

Any reason why you do not use a recent gentoo? or a recent distro?
