I am installing onto a new laptop and I have a quick question. The handbook is unclear, but do I need both an EFI partition and a 'bios_grub' partition, or will the EFI partition be enough? My layout is planned to be 1-128MiB for EFI, 128MiB-415.5GiB as BTRFS for Gentoo, 415.5GiB-915.5GiB as ext3 for virtual machines, and the remaining 16GiB for swap (it has 16GiB RAM). Will this work or do I still need the 'bios_grub' partition?

The_Great_Sephiroth ...

the short answer is no, you don't need a 'bios_grub' partition for UEFI.

best ... khay
