Hello,

i have a problem when I install grub in my boot partition. I tried it now several times and searched online for solutions but none of those worked, so I hope I could get some help from here.

My problem is that every time I tried to install grub in my boot partition I get this output:

Code:
(chroot) livecd /# grub-install /dev/sdb2 /boot
i386-pc will be installed for your architecture.
grub-install: warn: ext2 does not support embedding.
grub-install: warn: Embedding is not possible. Grub can only be installed in this setup by using blocklists. However, blocklists are UNRELIABLE and their use is discouraged.
grub-install: error: will not proceed with blocklists.

I have tried this guide and this but none of them worked:

I do not like Grub2 and I do not use it, but isn't your problem missing Grub BIOS partition?

You should use /dev/sdb as target, not /dev/sdb2

Code:

grub-install /dev/sdb

if that complains about something, show the output and also parted -l
