I'm currently struggling around a serious problem about my fan in my laptop. I have an ThinkPad E520 with an i5-2410M (HD3000 as graphics onboard) and a switchable Radeon HD 6630M. Since I've switched from the original driver from AMD to the open source radeon driver, my fan internal laptop fan isn't working any more, until I switch from X to the tty console. Then it recognize that the cpu is to hot and turns up his speed to max, but when I switch back to X it stalls on that speed until I switch back to console and back to X. The same is the other way around, when I'm on tty console the fan doesn't start to work, but when I switch to X and back to console, it's working like in the description above.
I've already checked several forums and blogs for that problem, but I'm still not getting the reason for that problem.
Does someone already had the same problem?
Here is my genkernel config:
And my make.conf:
|CFLAGS="-march=sandybridge -O2 -pipe"
USE="s3tc dri dri3 sna uxa nls caja -gpm -bluetooth -qt4 -qt -qt3support networkmanager -ldap gnome-keyring fuse x264 x265 mtp lame pm-utils pulseaudio acpi gtk3 client dbus evdev cups d3d9 vdpau xinerama samba ffmpeg xvid uxa cryptsetup bindist symlink"
CPU_FLAGS_X86="aes avx mmx mmxext popcnt sse sse2 sse3 sse4_1 sse4_2 ssse3"
VIDEO_CARDS="intel radeon r600 i965 i915"
INPUT_DEVICES="synaptics mouse keyboard evdev libinput"
Thanks in advance
