Hi all,

I want to install Gentoo amd64 on my pc, motherboard is Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3 v3, it has amd chipset 970 and etron usb 3.0 controller.

USB devices aren't working when booting the gentoo minimal amd 64 cd 2017 (latest). Also I couldnt test it but ethernet network should be working too.

Please help me out.

The oft-repeated advice is to try the (Gentoo-based) SystemRescueCd, which has better hardware support. The Handbook install experience when booted from SystemRescueCd is highly congruent to the Gentoo install media experience.

Do you have any USB 2.0-only ports you could try?

FWIW the Linux USB3 driver has always had quite an awful reputation for unreliability; it was written by people on Intel's payroll who never bothered to test it on Other People's Hardware and promptly disappeared once the code was thrown over the wall, as they are wont to do.

I had tried few other distributions, Mint, CentOS 7 and Ubuntu Gnome.

On Mint Cinnamon Sarah all was working, in CentOS 7 usb devices also aren't working, Ubuntu Gnome-latest all works (I don't know why it doesn't shows my usb hdds). Mint 18.2 Sonya, usb devices aren't working.

I'll try to install from SystemRescueCD.

Also ethernet network is working.
