Hey I got a Thinkpad x240 and I'm having trouble in configuring the kernel so it resumes from suspend.
It hibernates and dehibernates just fine, but, when it comes to suspend it goes to sleep and when i try to wake it up it starts spinning the fan but the leds still blink as it is in sleep and the screen remains off.
I tried building a kernel with a config straight from Fedora live iso and it works just fine, so, it certainly is a kenrel configuration issue.

If any one knows what should i enable in config please inform me.
Cheers.

Hm, a blind shot in the dark.. :)

TPM (and suspend/resume)

A common problem can be encountered if the TPM chip has been activated in UEFI/BIOS. If the kernel lacks the necessary drivers the system freezes when attempting to resume from a suspend. Simply configuring the kernel with TPM supports resolves the problem:
Code:
Device Drivers  --->
    Character Devices  --->
        [*] TPM Hardware Support --->
            [*] TPM Interface Specification 1.2 Interface / TPM 2.0 FIFO Interface

Cheers.

Josef.95, thank you very much! That was it.
I'd never expect TPM might be the issue and googling didn't tell that as well.

I owe you a beer, have a good one.
