Hi folks!
I was not able to find any off-the-shelf script to save/restore LCD backlight brightness on my lenovo X230 laptop on system reboot.
Can anybody point me something before I write my own :)

Since I didn't got any advice here, I wrote my own openrc service primarily based on alsasound and some other common scripts. It reads data from /etc/conf.d/lcdbacklight configuration file and honor such parameters as brightness control interface, actual brightness interface, maximum brightness interface and an option to save/skip brightness on stop (shutdown). And accepts additional commands "save", "restore" and "info". The last one shows actual and saved values with relative percentage to maximum. It tested to restore and save (if configured) backlight brightness on system start/shutdown with intel control interface, but I believe and be easily configured to work with any other interface.

So, how can I make it available for Gentoo users?

Oh, well, I forgot about that main question - how can I make this available for all Gentoo users (added to portage maybe?)?
