Sometmes shutdown hangs after
Quote:

* Killing remaining processes ...

* Remounting / read only ...
Disabling IRQ #17
There it stops but the cumputer is stll running. The only way to bring it down seems to be to power-off the computer :-(
Any idea?

Usually this message is follow by something like "irq 17:nobody cared (try booting with the "irqpoll" option)" followed by a stack dump of the offender. This usually means the offending driver forgot to release the irq before it was unloaded.

To work around this, add the "irqpoll" option to the kernel command line.

Without a stack dump, my best guess its the memory card reader that's causing the problem - to test that, blacklist the sdhci_pci module and remove the "irqpoll", reboot and see if you can shut down normally..

What would I need to do for getting such stack dump?
