I'm having trouble reading/write to my sdcard.
Everytime I plug in my microSD via adapter given, dmesg is bombarded with messages.

Whenever I try to mount it using udisks2, I'm given this error:

Object /org/freedesktop/UDisks2/block_devices/mmcblk0p1 is not a mountable filesystem.


Other SDcards work fine, and this SDcard worked before.
I just tried it on Ubuntu 17.04 and it worked fine as well.

I can mount it via mount command as root, but everything is impossibly slow and dmesg just gets clogged
with even more messages.

So I'm suspecting it is something with my kernel set up, but I am not entirely sure.

I've tried vanilla 4.9.44 and 4.11.9.

You were right, I ran badblocks on the sdcard and I was surprised by the amount of errors.
It's pretty surprising for me, as I've only been using it to listen to music on my phone
Didn't actually do alot of writes, only reads. :/

I happened to read an article about flash memory. The author claimed even expensive cards are cheap-made and their lifetime cannot be predicted. They have internal controller to deal with dying cells and at some point they just run out of healthy cells.
In my experience they go read-only - the funny part is writing to such a card does not produce any errors, but nothing is written, it goes like into /dev/null. The other way how they die is fdisk tells there is only a few MB of space available - it is the card controller chip memory, the card memory itself is not accessible any more.
