Good afternoon everyone.
I would like to install Gentoo from the official Minimal Installation CD, since currently I am being forced to use SysRescueCD, because my keyboard is not correctly detected. My keyboard is a Trust GXT18, and I know for sure it needs the following enabled in the kernel:
Code:

Location:
  -> Device Drivers
     -> HID support
        -> HID bus support
           -> Special HID drivers

since the helper section says the following:
Code:
Support for Holtek based devices:                                           │
  │   - Holtek On Line Grip based game controller                           │
  │   - Trust GXT 18 Gaming Keyboard                                        │
  │   - Sharkoon Drakonia / Perixx MX-2000 gaming mice                      │
  │   - Tracer Sniper TRM-503 / NOVA Gaming Slider X200 /                   │
  │     Zalman ZM-GM1                                                       │
  │   - SHARKOON DarkGlider Gaming mouse                                    │
  │   - LEETGION Hellion Gaming Mouse

The kernel helper says it
Code:
Depends on: INPUT [=y] && HID [=m] && USB_HID [=m]
. How do I enable this modules when the gentoo CD boots up?

you can install gentoo from the sysrescue cd, when the architecture of the future gentoo installation willl be the same. e.g. amd64 => amd64.

There is no requirement, need to stick to the minimal gentoo iso.

There are several ways to install gentoo. i for example prefer install a host newbie linux, like linux mint and start my installation from there. i also reuse the linux mint bootloader on my several installations. the benefit is, you will have a working desctop with working browser and working network connection.

hint: the gentoo wiki / handbook had references to alternative gentoo installation methods in the past

Yes, I know I can use the SysRescueCD, that is not a problem for me. The point is, I would like to know if there is a way to enable a specific module (such as the one I need), for example through the
Code:
doload=name_of_the_module
command.

Well, after some time I managed to get the right modules in order to be able to use my keyboard with the standard CD.

It is enough to do the following as sson as the CD boots up:
Code:
gentoo doload=hid_generic, usb_hid, hid_holtek_kbd
