I am a complete newbe and i am trying to use mkswap and it does not work. Image link bellow.

Does it have something to do with the disk lable type?
I am usig a 32G usb stick, is this the problem?

I would look at the kernel logs with 'dmesg'. My guess would be some kind of underlying issue writing to the device in question.

Right, usually inoput/output error is caused by corrupted disk

There's a remote possibility that the USB stick itself is a forgery reporting a greater size than it actually has. You'd have to check by trying to write to the entire space sequentially and verifying it can all be read back.

Thanx for the leads. I did the 'dmesg' several times and a regular discrepancy appear.

Z3N1AS,

The USB device keeps falling off the bus.
Its on USB bus 1 now. The message says USB 1-1.2

Connect it to another USB bus. I suspect a bus overcurrent condition.
The message will give a different bus number - the first number after the USB.
