|
|
I recently moved my Gentoo installation from MSI GT-60 to a clevo p751dm2-G, as the last one died during a BIOS update.
I moved from an i7 4810mq to a i5 7500
I also moved from a radeon 295 (GCN 1.2) to a nvidia 1060.
but when I boot the kernel, the IGP doesn't seem to show up:

jpsollie,
Is it disabled in the BIOS? _________________ Regards,

where do I see this? there's no such option in the BIOS
The laptop is using aptio V, and all settings are set at access level 'default' (using afudos and freedos, I made a copy of the bios to analyze it), but I only see a very little part of them.

I think since this is a gaming laptop with G-Sync, the intel GPU is hard disabled, only the nvidia GPU available.
Otherwise, there should be a switch in bios for graphics hybrid/integrated/discrete but I don't think so, due to G-Sync. |

Hi hhfeuer,
Thanks for your answer.
What do you mean with hard disabled? I can edit the aptio hidden settings, may it be possible to disable g-sync and enable the igp? _________________ I am using gentoo for over 10 years now. yet seen its possibilities, I still feel like a n00b... |

From a review for the Schenker that's a rebranded Clevo:
Quote: | The XMG U507 does not feature graphics switching (Nvidia Optimus) due to G-Sync support. |
So the answer is no, the iGPU isn't wired up, you can't use it, it's disabled and you can't enable it (apart from soldering. Just kidding) |
