Hello !
I've read that LILO is discontinued by its main developer Joachim Wiedom since end 2015. What is done within Gentoo concerning the lilo package ? Is the code being improved ? Will it be abandoned in the near future ?
Best regards,
pourpier

The code isn't improved by gentoo developer. What you see in portage tree is official code released by lilo developers in 2015.
I don't know what gentoo developer want to do.

But I see in the package sys-boot/lilo that there are two yellow versions 24.1 and 24.2. Do you know if someone of the Gentoo team will test these versions so that they become green ?

My main concern is to know if the package will be abandoned or not within the next two to three years.

pourpier,

While lilo still compiles and works, it will not be removed from the tree.
You can add lilo to your own overlay if you want to keep using it.
