Hi,

I'm using genkernel to build kernel for my system.

Since I use docker, I have to enable certain specific options.

This requires to run --menuconfig each time I want to update the kernel.
The other option is to use --oldconfig but this would ignore changes to generic kernel config provided by genkernel.

Is there any option to always use genkernel generic config with some additional options enabled, without manually selecting them, but rather putting them in a file?

Best regards

Genkernel save last config in /etc/kernels/, then when I change kernel version I use
Code:
# genkernel --kernel-config=/etc/kernels/kernel-config-x86_64-<latest_kernel_config> all

In addition, if you set OLDCONFIG=yes in /etc/genkernel.conf, then genkernel will use the .config file from /usr/src/linux without modification. You can customize it to your heart's content with "make menuconfig".

I expect that from time to time genkernel generic config
Code:
/usr/share/genkernel/arch/x86_64/generated-config
changes.

If I use oldconfig, I am never going to include those changes. Instead I will still use
Code:
generated-config
from first build.

What I want to achieve is to always use
Code:
/usr/share/genkernel/arch/x86_64/generated-config
as base with some options changed.
