If i boot my Notebook from a USB-Drive, how is it possible to share /dev/sda2 via LAN or WLAN ?with/over ssh?
I have create with dd a file from sda2, notebook_sda2.raw (16GB, it is my System Partition) and i store it on sda3 @Notebook.
Than i mount via sshfs from my big powerfull Desktop Computer /mnt/notebook_sda (partition)
At my Desktop Computer i can now open the notebook_sda2.raw with cryptsetup and than i do mount it.
After all this steps, i can go by chroot into it and compile large and big programms in a very short time.
My Notebook is not very fast, but by this way it works for me fine.
After that, i use dd to playback the notebook_sda2.raw-file to sda2.
Is there a way to do this so without to create everytime a file with dd and play it back to the device?

I have not tried it myself yet but eventually you can achieve this by using sys-block/nbd.

Hi,

you could share the mounted root via nfs directly. Otherwise you should have a look at iscsi, there you can share block devices over the network as well.

greets, bb

NFS as stated above would do this, but I think you might be looking for SFTP
