I have recently noticed on my own systems that using rt-sources with Nouveau or nv causes buffer underruns while using the JACK audio system. When downgrading to an older version of rt-sources and compiling an older version of nvidia-drivers against it (newer versions of both do not get along), xruns disappear. For any version of rt-sources, xruns are prolific when using Nouveau or nv.

I have successfully confirmed this is reproducible via a user I am supporting. User reported xruns with open-source nvidia and reduction in xruns when using nvidia-drivers.

My question: Do I file a bug? With whom do I file a bug? Something is reproducibly not working here - or at least is performing poorly. I just don't know who to report it to because I don't know the details of how kernels and video drivers interact.
