My motherboad has Radeon 3000 integrated graphics inbuilt in the chipset. I also have a GTX 1050 Ti on my PCIe slot. I have two monitors connected to the different devices, the motherboard and the discrete GPU, using DVI cables. This setup works correctly in Windows 10. I have never used a GNU Linux system before so I cant tell if it works for other distros because I just switched to Gentoo this morning.

In Gentoo, I can only connect the integrated GPU. Both cannot work at the same time. The mainboard allows me to set the preffered graphics device. I tried swapping the orders of the priority of graphics cards multiple times still nothing. But still only the integrated graphics card loads.

Initially I thought the lack of Xinerama was the problem, I installed it and still the same problem persists. I checked if the modules are recognised correctly and nouveau and radeon were there. I skipped kernelconfig and I assumed that multiple screens needed a window system before working. I used genkernel to compile the kernel, is this the problem, could I have missed a vital module? I searched for hours for the solution but couldnt find any, I think because AMD desktop integrated graphics are rare, therefore there is not much documentation on this. Bumblebee looks to support only Intel X Nvidia. Im stranded. This is very frustrating.

You need two screens section, each one handling one monitor and one card (one for nouveau, one for the radeon).
You then use both inside ServerLayout.

As funny as it is, the best example i could provide is in nvidia proprietary drivers where it is just explains.

Thank you. I will try this out and update the post for people who would face the same problem in the future. And have you taken the new log information I added into my initial post into configuration. The ring buffer says the nouveau chipset isnt recognised.

well, if nouveau say your chipset is not support, you have to go with something else handling it, proprietary drivers, framebuffer or vesa.
that should be your priority to fix that, because you don't need to configure two monitors with two cards if one card just doesn't work :)

It looks like nouveau does support your nVidia chipset but you need at least the 4.12 kernel and you have 4.9.76-gentoo-r1.

Read Mixing stable with testing and unmask just the testing kernel.
Update your kernel and boot into it.

Look at
Code:
uname -a
to make sure you have a 4.15 kernel and it should work on the console with your nVidia card.

Getting both cards to work together in Xorg will be a bit more difficult.
The approach is to make them work individually then add the pieces together.

I appreciate your input. But since I already switched to nvidia instead of nouveau, I would like to continue with the nvidia modules.

I decided to switch to the propietary drivers since it looks to be better supported. But still only one monitor loads, either the radeon or nvidia

There are two scenarios:

1. When I boot to BIOS and set the intergrated radeon graphics on slot 1 and the discrete nvidia to slot 2, all modules seem to be loaded, as in the above lspci -k with only the loaded nvidia module instead of nouveau being the difference. Both nvidia and radeon are seen.

2. When I swap the slots in BIOS, only nvidia is loaded. There is no trace of the radeon chips. Only nvidia is seen.

So I thought I would apply @krinn 's solution and create a xorg.config file that covers both the radeon and nvidia devices in a ServerLayout while in scenario 1.

Make it work with one and then the other then combine the bits.

Unless things have changed recently, nvidia-drivers and radeon need different and incompatible kernel settings.
So making one work will break the other ... I would like to be proved wrong though.
