When I try to

Code:
# emerge -ptv teamspeak-server-bin

emerge tells me to put the downloaded installation file into a specific directory:

Code:
 * Please download teamspeak3-server_linux_amd64-3.0.13.8.tar.bz2
 * from https://www.teamspeak.com/downloads and place this
 * file in /var/tmp/tmp8jqefm0_/portage/media-sound/teamspeak-server-bin-3.0.13.8/distdir

But the specified directory is a temporary directory which always changes by every call. Some months ago this was some not changing path which also wasn't that long.

How can I fix this behavior?

Usually default location to put archive is /usr/portage/distfiles

This is portage-2.3.24-r1 resolves DISTDIR wrong for fetch restricted files. According to comments in that bug, the ebuild should not be expanding $DISTDIR at this phase. I find that to be a bit surprising, but since that comes from the Gentoo developer responsible for the package, I would not expect it to change.

LOL what a stupidity

I love this:
Quote:
The ebuild tries to access DISTDIR in pkg_nofetch() where it has no meaningful value. Please file a bug for the package.
PMS reference: https://projects.gentoo.org/pms/6/pms.html#x1-120002

Ok, but at PMS reference we get a "Ditto" about DISTDIR
I don't know what Ditto mean, i know "ditto" which is "same", but i suppose "Ditto" with uppercase letter is not just "ditto" and mean something else.
What this "Ditto" is ?
if really is just "same as upper", why using Ditto when PORTDIR repeat src_* while the upper S also use src_* ?

and they wonder why devs do mistakes :)

Thank you. Moving the file to
Code:
/usr/portage/distfiles
solved the problem.
