How can I test an ACPI ALS? It is built into my kernel. Worked back in KDE4 but I just noticed that it does NOT work in KDE5/Plasma. I can adjust brightness with the slider in Plasma, but I cannot make the ALS work. Can I test it somehow before posting in the desktop forum?

Can anybody help me with this? I would like for my ALS to work in Plasma like it did in the past. I have the correct driver built into my kernel, but the only way I seem to be able to change brightness is with the slider in the Plasma Power Management applet in the systray. I just need to know if it works before I proceed further.
