System:
Gentoo all packages up to date, kernel 4.9.76

Hello,

I have a new "Samsung Portable SSD T5" external USB disk.

When I plug it in (USB), "dmesg -T" shows:

Code:

[So Mai 27 09:18:01 2018] usb 2-1.3: New USB device found, idVendor=04e8, idProduct=61f5

and I got a /dev/sdd with that I can work with, create FS on it and mount it, as expected.

But when I reboot my Gentoo box, there is no /dev/sdd (or any other /dev/sdX for this disk) anymore, automatic mounting via /etc/fstab does not work.
When I reconnect the USB drive, /dev/sdd shows up again and I can mount manually.

I have already another external USB drive in use: "Samsung Portable SSD T1" that is detected on boot properly. Problem only with this new drive.

Why is the disk device not detected at boot?
Thanks

Edit:
I compiled Kernel 4.9.95, now the USB is detected also on boot.
