Hi!

Someone recommended better-initramfs to generate a lightweight initramfs, so I tried it, and when I want to boot, it can't find any /dev/sd* nodes. I followed all the steps mentioned in the repo where it's hosted and the initramfs was created flawlessly, but I can't boot it. It gives the error of the "/newroot" mentioned there.

Is there some module to load before or do some additional step? Is there a way to make it recognize my /etc/fstab?

Thanks.

jorgicio ... better-initramfs doesn't contain modules, so any thing required to access the disk (eg: SATA_AHCI) must be build into the kernel. I expect this the root of your problem.

best ... khay

I have CONFIG_SATA_AHCI=m (as a module)... May I have to set it as a built-in then.

Thanks.

Done, now I set CONFIG_SATA_AHCI=y in the kernel and it boots normally.

Thanks!
