I get very little information from block devices via udev:
Code:
# udevadm info -q all -n sda
P: /block/sda
N: sda
E: DEVNAME=/dev/sda
E: DEVPATH=/block/sda
E: DEVTYPE=disk
E: MAJOR=8
E: MINOR=0
E: SUBSYSTEM=block
... what could cause this? Am I missing some kernel config options?

Code:
# qlist -Iv | grep eudev
sys-fs/eudev-3.2.5

Code:
udevadm info -a -n nvme0

This prints lots of info.

This prints lots of info.
... it should. But when I query for any block device then the output is
Code:
# udevadm info -a -n sdg

Udevadm info starts with the device specified by the devpath and then
walks up the chain of parent devices. It prints for every device
found, all possible attributes in the udev rules key format.
A rule to match, can be composed by the attributes of the device
and the attributes from one single parent device.

  looking at device '/block/sdg':
    KERNEL=="sdg"
    SUBSYSTEM=="block"
    DRIVER==""
    ATTR{badblocks}==""
    ATTR{range}=="16"
    ATTR{capability}=="51"
    ATTR{inflight}=="       0        0"
    ATTR{ext_range}=="256"
    ATTR{ro}=="0"
    ATTR{stat}=="     192        0    11646      430        0        0        0        0        0      320      430"
    ATTR{events_poll_msecs}=="-1"
    ATTR{events_async}==""
    ATTR{removable}=="1"
    ATTR{size}=="30375936"
    ATTR{events}=="media_change"
    ATTR{alignment_offset}=="0"
    ATTR{discard_alignment}=="0"
... at best. :roll:

Some .config edits and kernel upgrades later the problem no longer exists.
