Hey all, I recently rebooted my desktop computer after changing some cpu overclocking settings in the uefi/bios.

The problem is, all I get is the following message from my boot partition where my EFISTUB kernel lives :
Code:
FAT-fs (nvme0n1p1): IO charset iso8859-1 not found
mounting /dev/disk/by-partuuid/7400a535-f6db-4449-a23d-1fe7b3a26fb on /mnt/key/ failed: Invalid argument

I used much of 'Sakaki's EFI Install Guide' (https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Sakaki%27s_EFI_Install_Guide) in setting up my system a few months ago, so apart from that one partition, everything else is encrypted using GPG LVM on LUKS.

I've booted a 'Hybrid ISO LIVEDVD' to see if I could chroot in to fix it, but now apparently my 2nd partition (nvme0n1p2), which houses an encrypted LVM on LUKS with my entire root and home directories, tells my my password is incorrect, even though I am entering the same one I have been using for the past 4 months. Other drives encrypted with the same password decrypt perfectly fine.

I'm rather at a loss, I'm not sure what's happened, or why it's happened, or how it's happened. From my novice perspective, it appears that my kernel somehow now lacks FAT support for iso8859-1, and I have no idea why booting a livedvd and trying to unlock nvme0n1p2 returns a password incorrect error.

Does anyone have any ideas I can try. At the moment I can't chroot in or access any information stored on my root & home directories, and I am in unfamiliar territory
