Are there any man pages or any articles with a detailed description of all the kernel modules? I am trying to figure out what I need and I don't.

Hey,

I don´t know perhaps you can try https://kmuto.jp/debian/hcl/ ,or you can use a running kernel insert all devices you use and run
Code:
/usr/src/linux/scripts/kconfig/streamline_config.pl > .config.new
as refernce

The link above points to a site which is out of date and is for PCI hardware only. There is much more in kernel than just hardware.

You could start here: https://kernelnewbies.org/

reikdas,

I did a brief introduction. The detail is no longer correct but the method is still valid.

pappy_mcfae went into lot more detail with his kernel seeds project. That is a mirror of the original site, which has now gone.
New seeds, which are pappys take on a default kernel config, are still published. See Pappy's Kernel Seeds Part V and Pappy's preconfigs!
