Could be
Code:
CONFIG_FB_NVIDIA is not set

I'm not sure, I don't have any nvidia cards.

For the nvidia binary drivers, drop the efi fb ( "Be warned that enabling efifb support in kernel (CONFIG_FB_EFI=y) causes intermittent problems with the initialization of the NVIDIA drivers" ) and the nvidia fb ( CONFIG_FB_NVIDIA ). Only have under bus options Mark VGA/VBE/EFI FB as generic system framebuffer enabled, as well as Simple framebuffer support (under frame buffer devices).

My config for example (interestingly enough I seem to have the 3GB desktop version of the same card) if you'd like to look at the exact graphics setup, but basically the wiki page on nvidia binary drivers covers it
