I hate to make a new post right after making my previous one, but I have hit a snag. I am doing a standard Gentoo install without modifying base or anything yet. I am following my notes here: https://gitlab.com/Puffles_the_Dragon/puffles_gentoo/blob/master/install_gentoo.txt. When I get to emerge-webrsync && emerge --sync, where I install app-portage/cpuid2cpuflags, I get -bash: emerge-webrsync: command not found. I have no idea what to do, in order to set things up properly to do my chroot and such I need to get cpuflags done. How do I get emerge on here? I thought it was supposed to be on the livecd.

Can't read the link. You best source is to follow the handbook here

Emerge is absolutely not on the CD. It serves absolutely no role in the live environment that cannot install anything at all. Chroot and install what you need there. The stage 3 has all the tools available.

Apologies if I take a while to respond. I'm currently working on the dematerialization circuit for my blue box.

FOSSilized_Daemon,

The commands are in the right order in your link, you must have skipped the chroot step, or got the wrong stage3, so that the chroot silently failed.

You are discovering the hard bit about a scripted Gentoo install. The error handling. Every new user will generate new errors. Such is life.

I restarted with a new iso and things seem to be working, especially now that I am chrooted in. Last time that didn't work either. Thank you so much, you are all so helpful :D
