I'm trying to install Docker after following the kernel configuration section on the Docker page on the wiki and it's complaining about missing config parameters:
Code:
 * Messages for package app-emulation/docker-18.09.5:

 *   CONFIG_CGROUP_DEVICE:       is not set when it should be.
 *   CONFIG_IOSCHED_CFQ: is optional for container statistics gathering
 *   CONFIG_CFQ_GROUP_IOSCHED:   is not set when it should be.

I was able to find CONFIG_CGROUP_DEVICE (not set) and set it to "y". However, the second two settings don't show up anywhere in the .config file for the 5.0.7 kernel. I wasn't able to find any options relating to CFQ in the IO schedulers section of menuconfig, so I enabled BFQ thinking it might have replaced CFQ. Apparently Docker's still expecting CFQ.

What can I do to satisfy these last two parameters? I assume writing them in manually will make the warnings go away when Portage checks the kernel config file, but won't actually enable what needs to be enabled in the kernel.

yes, iosched (the single queue schedulers) were dropped recently (4.20 i believe?) for the mq schedulers. you might want to file a bug (if one hasn't already) asking for the ebuild to be updated to take account for newer kernel configurations.

cheers
