A few month ago I purchased ssd. Now it is idetified as sdc. I moved old Gentoo installation from 56G partition sda6 to 100G partition sdc3.
System on sdc3 is bootable and working, but use only 56G.
Code:
miropc / # df -h
Filesystem      Size  Used Avail Use% Mounted on
...
/dev/sdc3        56G   21G   34G  38% /cecko

and
Code:
fdisk /dev/sdc3
Command (m for help): p
Disk /dev/sdc3: 100 GiB, 107374182400 bytes, 209715200 sectors
Units: sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
Disklabel type: dos
Disk identifier: 0x716627b6

Any idea how to make system on sdc3 working with entire partition?

The easiest way is to boot the system with SystemrescueCD and resize the partition with GParted.

P.S. Use a Gentoo based systemrescueCD, i.e. any version before 6.0.0.

There are filesystem specific tools to make it occupy the whole partition. btrfs resize, xfs_growfs, ...
As you did not mention your fs type, you'll have to find out yourself.

I do not need resize partition I am afraid. fdisc shows 100G.

@grumblebear
My fs is ext4.

I think that I used
Code:
dd if=/dev/sda6 of=/dev/sdc3
and now I have exact copy of the sda6 partition.

If the partition is 100 GB, but the filesystem is smaller, you just need to resize the FS :
Quote:
# resize2fs /dev/sdc3

You can do that without unmounting the FS.
