Hey, I'm trying to build a 5.0.19 kernel using a .config file that works perfectly find for version 4.20 (I'm running it now). Upon running 'make' though I soon get the following errors:

Code:

arch/x86/entry/vdso/vclock_gettime-x32.o:vclock_gettime.c:function do_hres: error: relocation overflow: reference to 'vvar_vsyscall_gtod_data'
arch/x86/entry/vdso/vclock_gettime-x32.o:vclock_gettime.c:function do_hres: error: relocation overflow: reference to 'vvar_vsyscall_gtod_data'

arch/x86/entry/vdso/vclock_gettime-x32.o:vclock_gettime.c:function __vdso_gettimeofday: error: relocation overflow: reference to 'vvar_vsyscall_gtod_data'
arch/x86/entry/vdso/vclock_gettime-x32.o:vclock_gettime.c:function __vdso_time: error: relocation overflow: reference to 'vvar_vsyscall_gtod_data'

followed by the build failing. What new setting in this version of the kernel do I need to set to get this to build? Or do I need to install a new package? Thanks.

Here's my .config:

1) Do you use Vanilla kernel or Gentoo kernel?

2) If you use the vanilla kernel: did you run 'make oldconfig' after you copied the 4.20 .config file to the 5.0.19 kernel source directory?

I am using the vanilla kernel, and I hadn't run make oldconfig, but after doing so the problem still persists.

What is the output of
Code:
ld --version | head -n1
