Here is the build log http://batman.gyptis.org/zerobin/?f70e75a26f8de9bc#FylYer5q/fkOuNcAgTQKUa73fosiFbp/v6myy9ttrbM=

Output of "emerge --info '=dev-lang/spidermonkey-60.5.2_p0-r2::gentoo' http://batman.gyptis.org/zerobin/?fa099d839a170086#jIR9fG0nChDZnA+WrlhjEiakbDbrD/2CCRMpSlycYKc=

Output of "emerge -pqv '=dev-lang/spidermonkey-60.5.2_p0-r2::gentoo'"

The environment file http://batman.gyptis.org/zerobin/?f6bf116febc3f368#dvPqD3cQxvc+H74ncptgATiKbwYfeBuKCSAWPLuorAY=

Here is the end of the build log where it looks like the issue occurs:
Code:
make[3]: Leaving directory '/var/tmp/portage/dev-lang/spidermonkey-60.5.2_p0-r2/work/mozjs-60.5.2/jsobj/js/src'

I have also tried installing version "52.9.1_pre1" of the software but that fails with the same error. In the guide I'm up to choosing my profile, and when I try to update the @world set is when this error occurs. I'm using the profile:
Code:
default/linux/amd64/17.1/desktop (stable)
(I'm also using the latest stage3 tarball, so I don't think not having migrated to the 17.1 profiles is the issue)

So does anybody know how I should fix the issue? Should I maybe just continue on with the install and try to compile the package later in the process and see if it works then?

compilation terminated.
compilation terminated.

It sure looks like OOM killer in action, have you tried reducing the number of make instances?

No I didn't, I tried it using -j1 and it looks like it worked, thanks :)

Weird though that OOM was an issue, my laptop has 4 GB of RAM and I havn't had issues using all of it's cores when compiling before.

Some packages, notably anything derived from modern GUI web browsers, are very memory intensive.
