Hello, generally, when i work on my laptop, i never use my webcam. But recently, i would like to test obs-studio to do streaming.

But i don't have any idea how to found my webcam version and name. LSPCI command don't return any webcam device.

I use laptop with integrated webcam (not usb).

Should i activate special feature in my kernel ? (i think...)

lspci lists PCI devices, try lsusb.

Fulgurance,

Google says its a UVC Webcam. That's in the kernel.

You probably want USB Audio too to use the mic.

CONFIG_USB_G_WEBCAM

The Webcam Gadget acts as a composite USB Audio and Video Class device. It provides a userspace API to process UVC control requests and stream video data to the host.

Some programs will report "Cannot find microphone / camera" when the correct error is "Microphone / camera cannot be opened due to insufficient permissions." If your user is not permitted to open these devices, you may be wrongly told that the devices don't exist. Once you think the kernel is able to handle them, check that you are in the right group(s) to access them.
