Good morning. Yesterday my mouse and keyboard were not detecting due to not mounting the boot and root drive (Its working now). Now I am trying to get xorg to work with my nvidia drivers. So far I still get a black screen that flickers for a bit.

http://dpaste.com/09QCKEH (xorg config)
http://dpaste.com/0FBKFRW (xorg log).

I do see xorg log is reporting an issue in line 155 any advice on how to solve this?

also when using the "update-modules" command I receive the following output
Code:
-bash: update-modules: command not found

I apologize for opening a second thread, but this applies to a different issue

Your command worked, but the drivers are not still working properly. Anyway to use the testing Nvidia drivers (unstable)? I just want to give it a shot

i am a bit new to nvidia-drivers but as i understand,the driver depends on the kernel version and if you want to go more unstable you have to use :

Code:

mya51 /home/hedmo # emerge -av git-sources nvidia-drivers

These are the packages that would be merged, in order:

Calculating dependencies... done!
[ebuild   R    ] sys-kernel/git-sources-5.3_rc8:5.3_rc8::gentoo  USE="-build -symlink" 0 KiB
[ebuild   R    ] x11-drivers/nvidia-drivers-435.21:0/435::gentoo  USE="X acpi compat driver kms libglvnd multilib tools -gtk3 -static-libs -uvm -wayland" ABI_X86="32 (64) (-x32)" 0 KiB

Total: 2 packages (2 reinstalls), Size of downloads: 0 KiB

Would you like to merge these packages? [Yes/No]

regards hedmo

Hi there! I apologize I forgot to update the thread. But me using the latest nvidia drivers 435.21 solved the driver issue! :)
