Hi, have anyone used the memtest86+ package recently?

I have an UEFI mobo, but the memtest does not work in UEFI mode, so I created BIOS bootable usb stick in grub i386-pc legacy mode
Code:
grub-install --target=i386-pc --boot-directory=/run/media/foo/bar/boot/ /dev/sdX

Then I emerged sys-apps/memtest86+-5.01-r4, copied /boot/memtest86plus/memtest.bin to /run/media/foo/bar/boot/memtest86plus/, added an entry for memtest to /run/media/foo/bar/boot/grub/grub.cfg

Code:
menuentry 'Memtest86+' {
   linux16 "/boot/memtest86plus/memtest.bin"
}

and rebooted the machine. The memtest shows up, starts the testing, but it hangs after a short while.

When I use a memtest binary from systemrescuecd-6.0.3 (which contains also memtest86+ v5.01), everything works (testing with no errors).

EDIT: The memtest from systemrescuecd is actually the official binary from the homepage https://www.memtest.org of the memtest86+ project https://www.memtest.org/download/5.01/memtest86+-5.01.bin.gz This official binary is different from what gentoo builds.

PS: The memories are ok, I do not have any problems with my pc, just want to have memtest ready.
