Hello. I'm a first time Gentoo and Linux user. Everything on my install has gone smoothly and I have everything up and running, perfectly functional, but there's one problem I'm having, that's getting the USB wifi adapter running. Presently I've used an ethernet to complete my install and various other needs up until now, i would like to change that to the USB however I'm quite confused as to how the installation works and was hoping I could get some clarification before I accidentally mess something up.

Apparently I need the drivers from https://github.com/abperiasamy/rtl8812AU_8821AU_linux but I'm unsure how to compile it. I also seemed to be missing the "Realtek RTL8723AU Wireless LAN NIC driver" in the kernel configuration settings. Can anyone explain to me what I need to do in this situation? Apologies for the dumb question.

If you have a wifi adapter from literally any other name, try that first. Realtek is one of the worst manufacturers to end up with.
