So I basically don't need to have my dGPU(gtx1050ti) enabled under Gentoo in my laptop. I just want to use bbswitch and not the bumblebeed/bumbledee(I want the card forever disabled under Gentoo).

here are the steps:

(1) Install bbswitch.
(2) nano -w /etc/modprobe.d/bbswitch.conf
add:
options bbswitch load_state=0 unload_state=1
(3) nano -w /etc/modules-load.d/bbswitch.conf
add: bbswitch

but in the guide it says: You have to update your initial ramdisk (initrd) for the changes propagate to the boot process.

What if I don't have an initramfs ?
is it possible to load the modules without initramfs ?
or is it best to install the bumblebeed ?

EDIT:

should I add the module name to

/etc/modules-load.d/module.conf
or
/etc/modules
?

also, is bbswitch made with dkms support in Gentoo ?

I use the commands below to disable my Nvidia graphics chip on my notebook:
Code:
# /sbin/modprobe bbswitch
# echo "OFF" > /proc/acpi/bbswitch

and the following command the view the status:
Code:
# cat /proc/acpi/bbswitch
0000:01:00.0 OFF

I just added the first two commands to one of my local boot scripts (/etc/local.d if you use OpenRC) and that's it. There's no need for an initial ramdisk or for a configuration file.
