Hi,

I recently installed and configured a new GPU: AMD 580X. I left the computer on over night, as usual and when I returned this morning there were no graphics. I thought the cpu hung but I managed to ssh into it to find this in dmesg:
Code:
[25649.260228] amdgpu 0000:02:00.0: GPU fault detected: 147 0x0820c401 for process X pid 5443 thread X:cs0 pid 5446
[25649.260232] amdgpu 0000:02:00.0:   VM_CONTEXT1_PROTECTION_FAULT_ADDR   0x08E00504
[25649.260234] amdgpu 0000:02:00.0:   VM_CONTEXT1_PROTECTION_FAULT_STATUS 0x0E0C4001
[25649.260238] amdgpu 0000:02:00.0: VM fault (0x01, vmid 7, pasid 32768) at page 148899076, read from 'TC3' (0x54433300) (196)
[25659.751083] [drm:amdgpu_job_timedout [amdgpu]] *ERROR* ring gfx timeout, signaled seq=418661, emitted seq=418663
[25659.751087] [drm] GPU recovery disabled.

Should this be filed as a bug report to amdgpu, what do you think?

Paulo

I'd say save this data and see if it happens again, reliably.

IMHO this may be hardware failure but not having this hardware I don't know for sure.
