I have a HP OfficeJet 5255 connected to the home WiFi network here, and I'm trying to add it as a network printer. I have cups, hplip and hplip-plugin installed, and I've installed networked printers before and had it work.

I went into the CUPS web interface at localhost:631/admin, logged in with the root password, and clicked "Add Printer", and the networked OfficeJet was automatically detected. I clicked through the setup wizard and selected the "HP Officejet 5200 Series, hpcups 3.19.11 (en)" model, but when I finish I get the error:

Code:

Unable to add printer:
Unable to copy PPD file

Attempting to add the printer via system-config-printer doesn't work either, so the problem must be within CUPS. Anyone know enough about CUPS to help me debug this?

Is there a ppd for my printer on my computer?
Code:
find / -name *hp-officejet_5200*

/usr/share/ppd/HP/hp-officejet_5200_series.ppd.gz
gedit /usr/share/ppd/HP/hp-officejet_5200_series.ppd.gz wrote:

I do not have your printer. I would be tempted to add *Product: "(HP Officejet 5255 All-in-one)" after *Product: "(HP Officejet 5232 All-in-one)", save, run
Code:
 /etc/init.d/cupsd restart
and try printer install again.

https://launchpad.net/hplip might help
