In /dev, no RTC device is present.
However, dmesg clearly mentions it can find a rtc_cmos device named rtc0.
I guess the error is somewhere at udev, but how should I map it?

That message isn't about the device file, which isn't really essential nowadays.
Code:
CONFIG_RTC_INTF_DEV:

Say yes here if you want to use your RTCs using the /dev
interfaces, which "udev" sets up as /dev/rtc0 through
/dev/rtcN.
But you're likely missing this if you still want it.

Edit: There's also a sysfs and proc interface, but I use none of the 3, clock-wise you can make the kernel mostly independent from the init system (can turn off all the init/shutdown clock stuff) and have it maintain a sane hardware-saved clock across reboots assuming at least NTP sync now and then (some ntpd preferable). See CONFIG_RTC_SYSTOHC and CONFIG_RTC_HCTOSYS. I'd assume you aren't going to run MPlayer with /dev/rtc :) but could be something else.
