Hi,

I built a new PC using a R3700X on a MSI B450M Mortax Max and a Sapphire RX 570 Pulse 8 GB.
Everything is up and running very well, except OpenGL under Gnome (Gentoo Profile w/o systemd)
Kernel is 5.4.x

amdgpu is setup and working well. OpenGL is also active when using X with xdm and a simple window manager. I get framerates between 70 and 120 fpm

When using Gnome AIGLX is also started as long as I am on the logon screen von vt 7
But when logging in and getting a session on vt 8 I see the following messages in greeter.log:

(II) AIGLX: Suspending AIGLX clients for VT switch
(II) systemd-logind: got pause for ...
....

OpenGL gets deactived until I log out again. Then I see a "Resuming AIGLX clients for VT switch" and OpenGL seems up again (fairly useless on the login screen)

I also see this suspending/resuming behavior on an old notebook with i915 using Dantrells Gnome. Here I don't have hw acceleration so I do not mind.

Has anybody a working OpenGL in a Gnome session?
Any hint is appreciated

Happy new year to all

Uli

Oh no, I deserve the price for the dumbest champ in town

"AIGLX: Suspending AIGLX clients for VT switch" had nothing to do with it.

My failure was to always open the terminal with ssh (because I copied the terminal setup from another PC). If a use a local terminal it is working like a charm.

Sorry for wasting your time
