axxxxxel,

I would start by testing a different kernel series, eg. 4.19 and see if it
behaves the same way. another test would be to run systemrescuecd
or any other distribution which starts from cd/usb and check for your wifi
device.

for further help here on the forum I suggest you post additional info like
dmesg and lspci output.
